The Colombian pilot David Alonso (CFMoto) has conquered the pole this Saturday for the Moto3 race of the French Grand Prix, fifth round of the motorcycle World Championship, after surpassing the time of the Spanish Dani Holgado (GasGas), leader, on his last lap. of the category, while José Antonio Rueda (KTM) was third in his return to the championship.
With a time of 1:40.114, a track record, the driver born in Barcelona and nationalized Colombian guaranteed himself the third consecutive pole and will try to trouble Holgado in the race, from whom he is separated by six points in the overall drivers’ standings.
The two will start from the front row, like José Antonio Rueda (KTM), who returns to the competition after missing the last two races after undergoing appendicitis surgery and who put together an excellent performance that will allow him to start from third place.
Heading the second row of the grid will be Adrián Fernández (Honda), fourth, in which Iván Ortolá (KTM), sixth, will also start the test.
In addition, David Muñoz (KTM) and Ángel Piqueras (Honda), who suffered a hard fall at the end of Q2, will start from the ‘Top 10’, eighth and ninth, respectively, and Joel Esteban (CFMoto) will start seventeenth. The only Spaniard who did not advance to Q2, David Almansa (Honda), will start twenty-second.
