Cristiano breaks a record of almost 60 years

Pirlo's Juventus begins to carbure. After sealing his pass to the knockout stages of the Champions League as first in the group with the historic victory at Camp Nou, Vecchia Signora is setting the course in Serie A. With the victory against Parma, the team is third with 27 points the same as Inter and one less than Milan, which have one less game.

One of the main reasons for this redirection of course is, how could it be otherwise, Cristiano Ronaldo, who has already scored 12 goals in 9 games of the Italian championship. Juve suffered during their absence due to coronavirus, but Cristiano has returned in great shape. In fact, with his two goals yesterday, he has broken a new Serie A record, one that had been in place for almost 60 years. The Portuguese has become the first player to score 33 goals in a calendar year in Serie A since Omar Sivori (Juventus) in 1961.

He still has two players ahead, Gunnar Nordahl (Milan) and his 36 goals in 1950 and Felice Borel (Juventus) that ended with the incredible number of 41 goals in 1933. Ronaldo will play one more Serie A game in 2020, against Fiorentina at Juventus Stadium, so he will have a chance to overtake Sivori and even tie Nordahl in the case of scoring a hat-trick.

Cristiano has completed a spectacular 2020 with a total of 41 goals in 38 games for Juve which has led him to finish second in the recently delivered The Best, being considered the second best player in the world. He could not take the golden boot that finally went to Ciro Immobile, capocannoniere of the last season in Italy, but at 35 and with a total of 756 goals behind his back, he is getting closer and closer to becoming the greatest scorer of all time, an honor that Josef Bican currently has with 805 goals.
