The Club de Campo was proclaimed champion of the Copa del Rey field hockey this Sunday by beating Atlètic Terrassa HC in the shoot outs (0-0, 3-2), while the Iberdrola Queen’s Cup was won by RC Polo beating the host Club de Campo (0-2).
In the men’s final, the host did triumph at home, as the pools also pointed out, without having yet lost any match in the MGS League. Atlètic did not make it easy and thus the 0-0 after 70 minutes. The shoot outs decided the final in favor of the Madrid team, their fourteenth Copa del Rey.
Meanwhile, the RC Polo players conquered Madrid to seal a perfect tournament. The Catalans’ game was also showcased in the final, with a goal in the first quarter from Paula Ortiz. Already in the last minutes, Flor Amundson sentenced in a counterattack in which the Country Club played without a goalkeeper in search of not losing the throne.
