Cartagena withdraws the season ticket from the fan who insulted El Hilali

FC Cartagena has identified the person who used racist insults to RCD Espanyol player Omar El Hilali, on matchday 9 of LaLiga Hypermotion at the Municipal Cartagonova, and has withdrawn his season ticket for the remainder of the season.

“Football Club Cartagena SAD informs that, following the events that occurred during the match against Espanyol and once the person who made the racist insults against the player Omar El Hilali has been identified, his FC Cartagena subscriber card will be withdrawn. SAD, in a procedure coordinated from the first moment with LaLiga,” the club said in a statement.

Half an hour into the match, which ended with a 0-2 victory for the ‘pericos’ – leaders of the competition -, the referee had to stop the match to request an end to the racist insults to El Hilali, who notified them in the first person to the referee.
