Carolina Marín leads the badminton team for the Krakow 2023 European Games

The classified athletes are, in addition to Huelva, Kike Peñalver and the female doubles of Bea Corrales and Clara Azurmendi

The Huelva player Carolina Marín will lead the Spanish badminton representation for the European Games in Krakow (Poland), which will be held between June 21 and July 2, an event that will also be attended by Kike Peñalver and the women’s doubles team of Bea Corrales and Clara Azurmendi, as reported in a statement on Wednesday by the Spanish Badminton Federation (FESBA).

Spain will have four representatives in badminton, a competition that will be held at the Jaskolka Arena in Tarnow and that will bring together 143 athletes from 37 countries, who will compete in the five usual events: men’s and women’s singles and men’s, women’s and mixed doubles.

With the technical director of FESBA, Arturo Ruiz, at the helm, it will be the current European champion, Carolina Marín, who will bring together the national options in Krakow. The woman from Huelva has been framed in Group A of the tournament that will start on June 26, together with the Israeli Ksenia Polikarpova, the Slovakian Katarina Vargova and the Swiss Jenjira Stadelmann.

On the other hand, Peñalver has fallen in Group G and will have to face the Bulgarian Dimitar Yanakiev, the Ukrainian Danylo Bosniuk and the Azerbaijani Ade Resky Dwicahyo. While the women’s doubles made up of Bea Corrales and Clara Azurmendi will also offer options for the Spanish team.
