Carlos Iglesias testifies for alleged fraud of 19 million to the Treasury and talks about his brother Julio: “He has nothing to do with this”

Carlos Iglesias de la Cuevabrother of Julio Iglesiashas refused this Tuesday to testify before any of the parties on the first day of the trial that was held in the Provincial Court of Madrid against him for allegedly defrauding the Treasury of 19 million in the fiscal year of 2001.

They accuse him of not having included in the Corporate Tax the sale of several lands in Madrid, alleging that he had his tax residence in Panama.

The businessman has declared before the judge that he does not consider himself responsible for the acts of which he is accused, although following the recommendation of his lawyer, he has refused to answer questions from any of the parties.

Yes, he spoke when he left the Courts before the numerous media outlets that were waiting for him. He has assured that he is “totally calm” and confident that everything will be resolved. Through gestures, he has also hinted that both the fine requested by the Prosecutor’s Office (more than 98 million euros) and the years in prison (four) seem outrageous to him.

Thanking the press for their interest, Carlos has also made it clear that although Julio supports him “totally” in this delicate legal situation, the singer “has nothing to do with this.”
