MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
Sevilla FC and Al-Hilal announced this Thursday the transfer of Moroccan goalkeeper Yassine Bono, after four seasons at the Spanish club, to join the Saudi Arabian side.
“Sevilla FC and Al-Hilal from Saudi Arabia have reached an agreement for the transfer of goalkeeper Bono to the Asian team. Bono is leaving Sevilla FC after having played 142 official appearances in the Nervionense shirt, having won two UEFA Europa Leagues, one Zamora Trophy, 58 clean sheets and nominated as the best goalkeeper in the world at The Best gala,” says the Sevilla statement.
The signing of Bono had been discussed for several days, despite the fact that the goal defended Sevilla in the final of the European Super Cup on Wednesday against Manchester City. His last service could not prevent the defeat on penalties against the English team, but Bono leaves behind a resume as an important player in Nervión.
The Moroccan arrived in the Andalusian capital in the 19/20 season from Girona FC. His performance in the Europa League that season ends up confirming him in the Sevilla goal, with the club exercising the option to compare to Girona.
Bono, the first Zamora Trophy in Sevilla’s history, was already received by the Saudi club, with the signing of his new contract until 2026. Sevilla announced that the goalkeeper will have an official farewell ceremony in the near future, “whenever that is the case possible”.
Al-Hilal announced the signing of Neymar Jr. on Tuesday and continues to form a high-level squad, with the presence of Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly and Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, in a Saudi League that does not stop signing .
