Benzema: “To prepare for the Champions League final we have to play well against Betis”

MADRID, 19 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Real Madrid’s French striker, Karim Benzema, believes that although his team is already champion and nothing is at stake on the last day of LaLiga Santander, they have to “play well, win and gain more confidence” against Betis to prepare for the final of the Champions League that will face Liverpool.

“We are already champions, but to prepare for the final we have to play well, win and gain more confidence. We play at home and we have to make the people who come to watch the game happy, that’s the most important thing. We have to play at our best to respect Betis and win”, commented Benzema after receiving the Five-Star Player of the Month award for April, organized by Mahou and for which the Whites’ fans voted for him.

The ‘top scorer’ was happy to win this award for the best player in April, a month in which his team played eight games and won six of them. “I feel very proud and it was a very important month for me and also for the team with a good level of goals and wins,” he said.

In April, Karim Benzema scored ten goals, including a hat-trick against Chelsea and braces against Manchester City and Celta. So many decisive to reach the Champions League final, such as the ones he scored against the British teams, and to win the league title, such as the target achieved in added time to beat Sevilla at home.
