According to Christian Falk, head of football for the German newspaper Bild, Tel is already in Munich today to undergo a medical examination and everything indicates that Bayern will announce his signing in the next few hours.

Tel himself already said goodbye to the Rennes fans on Sunday through a letter published on his Instagram account. The very young striker arrived at the Breton club in 2020 and in August 2021 he became, at 16 years and 110 days, the youngest player to make his first-team debut in its entire history. A record held by today’s Real Madrid player Eduardo Camavinga.

Bayern would pay Rennes around 20 million euros plus another 8.5 variables and Tel, despite his youth, would help the Senegalese Sadio Mané, signed from Liverpool, to alleviate the departure of Robert Lewnadowski to FC Barcelona.

Bayern’s insistence

Bayern’s insistence has finally paid off since, according to L’Équipe, they had already made several offers this summer for Tel, an Under-18 international and European Under-17 champion last June with France.

In total, Tel played 10 official matches with Rennes last season -seven in Ligue 1, two in the Conference League and one in the French Cup- among which he only played 79 minutes.
