LEVERKUSEN (GERMANY), 30 Ene. (dpa/EP) –
Bayer Leverkusen has “absolutely” denied the rumors about an alleged interest from the German team, led by Xabi Alonso, in signing the Spanish international Marco Asensio.
“There is absolutely nothing of that,” said the sports director of the entity, former footballer Simon Rolfes, to the German sports magazine 'Kicker'.
The Leverkusen leader thus reacted to publications in the media, in which it is stated that the 28-year-old player, from Paris Saint-Germain, would be willing to change his scene.
The German channel Sky stated that the current Bundesliga leader has been negotiating a loan agreement since Monday night. In the title race with Bayern Munich, Leverkusen recently signed Spanish Borja Iglesias, until now at Real Betis, as a replacement for injured goalscorer Victor Boniface.
Left winger Asensio was transferred last summer from Real Madrid to French champion PSG, but has not yet been able to secure a permanent place in the starting lineup of Luis Enrique's team. According to 'Kicker', Leverkusen continues searching the market in search of an attacker.
