Bautista goes to third round without playing due to Harris resignation

Roberto Bautista went to the third round of the Miami Masters 1,000 in the easiest way, without playing. The Spanish was going to debut in second against a complicated rival, Lloyd harris, who had just played the final of the ATP 500 in Dubai, but the south african resigned before the match due to injury and Bautista will face Jan-Lennard Struff on Sunday for a place in the round of 16. The German beat Lithuanian Berankis 6-3, 6-4.

Seventh-seeded Bautista had never met Harris, world No. 52 since Monday at age 24. It would have been an interesting meeting at the moment in which a tennis player was going through, perhaps the accumulation of high-level matches took its toll and who in his debut in Miami had beaten the American Emilio Nava in two sets.

Roberto will start his participation in the tournament against Struff, an uncomfortable opponent whom he has already seen four times, with a favorable balance of 3-1. In his last duel, last year in Dubai, the Teuton won in three rounds.
