Atlético Femenino dismisses Pablo López

MADRID, Jan. 20 (SportsFinding) –

The coach Pablo López has been dismissed this Monday as coach of Atlético de Madrid Femenino as a result of the latest results of the team, confirmed the rojiblanco club, which dispenses with him five days after receiving the leader of the First Iberdrola, FC Barcelona .

“Atlético de Madrid and Pablo López have reached an agreement for the termination of the technician's contract,” the mattress company announced. “The current sports situation, in which we have won four draws in the last seven games, has led to a mutual agreement for the termination of his contract,” he adds.

The Madrid coach took the reins of the team in October, after the previous coach, José Luis Sánchez Vera, decided to leave his post “for personal reasons.”

Since taking office, López led the rojiblanco team in 14 games, 12 of Primera Iberdrola and two of the Women's Champions League. Atletico is second in the domestic competition with 37 points -11 wins, 4 draws and one defeat-, nine of the Catalans after tripping over the last days with Rayo Vallecano (1-1) and Sevilla (2-2).

“From the club we appreciate his work and professionalism during his time at the club and we wish him the best of luck,” concludes the club's statement, which has not cleared the question of who will now lead the team.
