This Friday, Athletic Club presented its new kit to celebrate the club’s 125th anniversary, recovering the historical clothing that it wore for the first time on September 21, 1969 until 1995, where it was consolidated as the entity’s alternative clothing.
The new kit is made up of a blue shirt and pants, as well as red and white socks that capture “a good part of the centuries-old essence” of the Athletic Club. The first time the Biscayan team wore this all-blue shirt was during their visit to Granada FC in the old Los Carmenes, extending until 1995, and it was repeated between 1998 and 2005, as well as in the 2008-09, 2013-14, and 2017 seasons. -18 and 2018-19.
According to Athletic, some of the most important matches where he wore this uniform were against Juventus in 1977 in the UEFA Cup final, against Liverpool in 1983, Newcastle in 1994 or Standard Liege in 2004.
