Mark Davis, the owner of the Raiders, says that when Josh McDaniels or Dave Ziegler were in charge, the team was going in the wrong way.

Mark Davis, the owner of the Las Vegas Raiders, finally spoke out about the big changes that have been made to the team’s coaching staff as well as front office.

This week, both head coach Josh McDaniels and general manager Dave Ziegler were fired. Davis said that the choice was partly made because he thought the team wasn’t making progress.

“I really hoped that Josh and Dave would work out,” Davis told ESPN. “It looked like we were going the wrong way.” With the trading deadline coming up, I thought it was time for a change.

Antonio Pierce was made temporary head coach by the Raiders. Davis talked about Pierce’s energy when he talked about why he chose to play him higher for the rest of the season.

Davis said of Pierce’s leading the team, “It seemed like a new way of doing things.” “It looked like the change we needed that this time.

The Raiders had a crazy day on Tuesday, the NFL trade deadline, but not to feed the reason everyone thought it would be.

The team didn’t make any deals, but at 10 p.m. PT on Tuesday, owner Mark Davis fired coach Josh McDaniels along with general manager Dave Ziegler.

While Davis was in Las Vegas, the product proved clearly in bad shape. He had finally had enough after the Raiders lost 26-14 to Detroit in Monday Night Football.

After just 25 games, the Raiders’ owner fired both McDaniels as well as Ziegler about 24 hours after the loss became official. This ended what was once seen as a Patriots-like makeover for the Silver and Black.

They were fired Tuesday night, just over two years after Davis signed them from the New England Patriots. Their names were Josh McDaniels as well as Dave Ziegler.

“I really hoped that Josh and Dave would work out,” Davis told ESPN in Wednesday. “It looked like we were going the wrong way.” With the trade deadline coming up, I thought it was time for a change.

An embarrassing loss in Detroit on “Monday Night Football” by a score of 26–14 pretty much sealed their fate.

It was one week after the Raiders lost 30–12 to the Chicago Bears, with Tyson Bagent, an undrafted Division II rookie QB making his first NFL start.

The biggest change on the field for the Raiders is rookie quarterback O’Connell. Pierce and Kelly chose him to replace Jimmy Garoppolo, who was expensive but often hurt and not very good.

“It’s pretty crazy around here; there’s a lot going on that I haven’t been a part of before,” O’Connell said about the last few days.

“I only had one coach in college, so this is all very new to me.” To enjoy it for as long as possible, I’m just taking it one day at a time, minute by minute.

They didn’t have to rebuild because they came in with the quarterback and Davante already there. They had everything they wanted based on what they felt they were getting into from afar.

People will see for themselves what they’re getting, no matter the price you tell them. That’s why I told them, “Let’s see what you got.”

Again, there wasn’t a lot of sadness because I thought they weren’t fully aware of what they were getting from a distance.

But I knew from the end of the season, that they would. At that time, did I think it was a rebuild? No. In my mind, it was a real chance to move forward again.
