Alcaraz returns in the Montpellier preview against Griekspoor

After a sweet debut at the Australian Open, Carlos Alcaraz returns to action this Sunday at the ATP 250 in Montpellier. The 17-year-old from Murcia meets in the first round of the tournament's qualifying phase with Dutchman Tallon Griekspoor, world number 156, 24 years old.

In the event of winning, Alcaraz would still have to overcome another hurdle. His rival would come out of the French duel between Hoang and Van Assche, a 119th in the world and a promise of 16 years without ranking. So it does not seem too complicated, a priori, the way to a main draw in which players from the world's elite will be.

Among them the number 13 of the ATP, a Roberto Bautista who as seeded will get rid of playing the first round. The Italian Jannik Sinner (32) will also participate, who will make his debut against the Slovenian Bedene; the British, Murray, who has received an invitation and will debut before the Belarusian Gerasimov; the Belgian Goffin, second seed who also has a bye; or French figures like Tsonga and Pouille.

The Spanish cartel is completed by the 21-year-old from Malaga Alejandro Davidovich, which is already at the gates of the world top-50 (it is 54) and awaits a rival from the preliminary phase for its first duel in the appointment.
