Alcaraz reaches the Hamburg final in search of his fifth title in 2022

Albert Ramos had no chance against Casper Ruud in the Gstaad semi-finals

MADRID, 23 Jul. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish tennis player Carlos Alcaraz got rid (7-6(2), 6-1)) this Saturday of the Slovakian Alex Molcan to reach the final of the tournament in Hamburg (Germany), while the also Spanish Albert Ramos was powerless against the Norwegian Casper Ruud in the semifinals of Gstaad (Switzerland).

Alcaraz added to his serious numbers in 2022 to aspire to his fifth title of the season against Italian Lorenzo Musetti, who will play his first ATP final. The Murcian had an uncomfortable first set, against a Molcan who put up a fight.

Juan Carlos Ferrero’s pupil came to serve to close the sleeve, but lost his service and did not take advantage of two set points after the rest. Molcan performed perfectly, but in sudden death, the Spaniard raised the level, very involved on the track, and scored the sleeve with aggressiveness and success.

An easy ball missed in the net was the first point of the second set for Molcan, the sign that the script had changed and the resistance to the Murcian was falling. Alcaraz struck down with his right hand in a convincing way, his victory with a 6-1.

The one from El Palmar, who had a tough apprenticeship at Roland Garros and Wimbledon, is 39-5 in victories this season and, with his final in Hamburg, he will be sure to be the ‘Top 5’ in the world on Monday with the option of his fifth title in the fifth final of the season.

Meanwhile, in the Swiss land of Gstaad, in the battle between his last two champions, Ramos ran into a whirlwind named Casper Ruud. The Roland Garros finalist thrashed the Spaniard 6-2, 6-0, and will face Italian Matteo Berrettini in the final.
