Alavés keeps the lead in Ipurua and Burgos is second

MADRID, 20 Nov. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Deportivo Alavés tied (0-0) this Sunday in their visit to Ipurua and added a point that helped them keep the lead on matchday 16 of LaLiga SmartBank, which also left UD Las Palmas tied with Levante and Burgos’ victory against Racing (1-0).

Luis García Plaza’s men added in the Eibar field, where the locals have not known defeat this season, in an even, tactical clash with few occasions. Before the break, Stoichkov came to see the goal for Eibar, but the referee annulled it for a millimeter offside.

The armored team continued better in the second half, but without clarity in the last meters to add something more than 27 points. Meanwhile, the final stretch was for Alavés, although the 0-0 seemed written. With 31 points, those from Vitoria remain the lead alone, one more than Burgos.

The Castilian team was the only one from above that complied, on their visit to El Sardinero. Calero’s men broke the streak of eight games adding from the Cantabrians with a goal from Curro Sánchez in the 67th minute. For their part, Las Palmas (28) saved a draw (2-2) against Levante with a goal from Marc Cardona at minute 95.

The Canarian team managed not to see themselves surpassed in the table by the granota team (27), launched with Javi Calleja towards the direct promotion positions. Both teams tried to take the game to their home ground and a penalty goal by Soldado broke the tie after the break. Las Palmas, which has gone four games without winning, avoided defeat in the last breath of a direct duel.

In addition, the day left this Sunday the win (4-0) of Andorra against Lugo to continue looking at the promotion zone and the victory (1-0) of Villarreal B against Ibiza, much closer than below, where it continues to sink the Balearic picture.
