from Nieves Álvarez to Mar Flores

  • First edition of a gala that took place at the National Library of Madrid

This Thursday, the National Library of Spain hosted the first edition of the Spanish Fashion Academy Awards. A display of elegance and trends that paraded down the fantastic staircase, dressed with a red carpet in the purest Hollywood style. The master of ceremonies Nieves Alvarez She was one of the first to arrive and left us speechless with an impressive dress by Redondo Brand, one of her favorite designers.

The 129 members of the Spanish Fashion Academy Foundation, in tribute to the legacy of Cristóbal Balenciaga (who would turn 129 in 2024), have chosen the 40 nominees who compete to take home the statuette designed by Helena Rohner. One of the nominees was Nieves Álvarez, one of the most recognized top Spaniards in the world. The model appeared wrapped in a red two-piece with a bodice finished in a peplum with a pronounced neckline and bare shoulders that was completed with a large-volume skirt created with several ruffles in layers of tulle and a five-meter train. She has combined her style with the fantastic Bvulgari Serpenti necklace, one of the most iconic and exclusive of the brand.

Red has been one of the winners of the night although some of the tones have been slightly dull as they blend with the carpet itself. It has been the case of Hiba Aboukwhich has opted for the simplicity of a straight model with a side opening and a dropped-sleeve neckline signed by Moisés Nieto, or Eduardo Navarretewhich has attracted attention with a mix of textures from It Spain that did not lack anything: tulle, feathers and even patent leather.
