MADRID, 14 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –
The sports firm ‘adidas’ presented this Monday the new official ball ‘Oceaunz’ with which the semifinals, the match for third and fourth place and the final of the World Cup in Australia and New Zealand will be played.
As pointed out by ‘adidas’, the new ‘Oceaunz’, the same name as the ball that has been played with so far, is also “inspired by nature, drawing its visual identity from the most iconic Australian views: the Sydney skyline”. , while “its warm orange provides a subtle nod to the sunsets that illuminate the city that will host the best teams in the world; while the gold color simulates the most desired prize: the World Cup.” This new hue offers a new perspective on Australian culture, created by local artists Chern’ee Sutton and Fiona Collis.
This ball was the first to incorporate ‘Connected Ball’ technology, which provides precise data to the refereeing team in real time. Combining player positioning with Artificial Intelligence, this innovation has been key in aiding decisions throughout the tournament.
This technology also enhances the overall fan experience by providing accurate measurement of match data, including ball speed, spin, and the distance the ball travels before hitting the net.
In addition, the ball incorporates more innovations such as the ‘CTR-CORE’, a core inside the ball that adjusts to improve accuracy and consistency, allowing a faster game; or ‘SPEEPSHELL’, the polyurethane (PU) skin with a new 20-piece ball shape to improve aerodynamics.
In the same way, this ball will also contribute to improving the lives of thousands of people, since ‘adidas’ will donate 1 percent of net sales to ‘Equal Play Effect’, a Common Goal project and formerly known as ‘Global Goal 5′ Accelerator’, with a view to increasing female participation, representation and leadership in what is considered the ‘beautiful sport’, in such a way that each girl who plays soccer has an athlete as a reference in her community.
