“With Mbappé we would score twice as many goals… or triple”

The striker of Real Madrid Karim Benzema ensures that the understanding Kylian Mbappé in the French team is good and that if he reached the Real Madrid they could “score twice as many goals, maybe three times as many”.

“I like to play with him in the national team and I would like to play with him in the club. I think we would score twice as many goals. Maybe triple,” says the footballer in an interview published on Tuesday by the newspaper The Team.

Benzema reiterates the good understanding of both in the selection, where they know in which part each one has to play so as not to be both in the same place on the pitch.

The madridista stresses that he never stopped believing in the comeback against Paris Saint-Germain in the round of 16 of the Champions League and that at half-time he took the floor in the locker room to tell his teammates that it was possible.

believes that Marco Verratti is key in the Parisian game and that when the work in the center of the field has to be done by the Argentine Leandro Paredes “it’s not the same”, while pointing out that PSG “mentally leave very often”.

Benzema says that he feels that Madrid can win the Champions League again, that against Chelsea “there is no favourite” and rejects that the Madrid depend on your game.

“The Madrid He has won without me and he will do it again. When I’m on the pitch I try to keep my team from leaving the game. We can lose 4-0, but we are going to create chances, to show something”, he highlights.

In that sense, he acknowledges that he suffered in the past “classic” against Barcelonawho followed from the stands due to injury.

“You can lose 0-4, no problem. But not like this. In that game we didn’t do anything, we didn’t try anything, we didn’t show who we are. We let the game slip away,” he laments.

The striker attributes the Brazilian’s improvement vinicius this season to your advice.

“I have not taught him to play football. What I have done has been to change his ideas. Before I had the idea of overflowing and then ‘we’ll see’. Now he stands out knowing if he is going to score, cross or go inside. ( …) It’s the same as last season. The only difference is that now he makes good decisions. He reflects. That’s what I’ve taught him,” says the French player.

Banzema acknowledges that he would like to leave a legacy in the history of the French team, which would happen by winning the Qatar World Cup, although he also indicates that he feels capable of finishing as the all-time top scorer, for which he is separated by 15 goals from Thierry Henry.
