MADRID, 27 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

This Saturday, the Mutua Madrid Open honored Sergio Delgado, a former tournament employee who died on February 24 in Burgos as a result of an assault, before the start of the match between Rafa Nadal and Alex De Miñaur at the Caja Mágica.

Delgado’s family received the affection of the Manolo Santana court, in a heartfelt minute of silence and then with the applause of a full stand, including King Felipe VI, to witness Nadal’s second match in the capital. The Spanish tennis player himself approached the family with an affectionate hug.

The young man from Valladolid, who worked as a creative for Mutua Madrid Open campaigns, was in Burgos on February 24 celebrating a bachelor party with his friends. The alleged perpetrator of the events, a 23-year-old young man from Burgos who was arrested on Sunday the 25th, is in provisional detention, being investigated for the crime of homicide.
