Villanovense takes the Extremaduran ascent to Segunda B

Villanovense is a new team from the Second Division B. Just one season after his relegation to Third, the serones have benefited from going to the promotion phase as champion of the Extremadura group, to overcome the final played on Saturday night at the Francisco de la Hera in Almendralejo.

With the presence of the public again in the stands, the clash began with a goal from Villanovense when it only took 8 minutes of game. It did not take Cacereño to return equality on the scoreboard, with a goal from Teto at 21. From here, a highly contested clash and a draw that gives the team from La Paz the possibility of returning to the category it lost just a year ago.

In this way, Extremadura UD, Badajoz, Don Benito, Mérida and the newcomer Villanovense, will form the Extremaduran army in the bronze category next season. The next step will be to find out who your dance partners will be. The reform of the competition, with five groups of twenty teams each, keeps the unknown about the regrouping that the Spanish Federation will carry out. Traditionally, Extremadurans have been part of the fourth group, together with Andalusians and Murcians generally.

From last season, only Cartagena, representative of the fourth group, has been promoted to the Second Division. The rest, all remain in the category and Extremadura, dropped from second, would be the new tenant of the group, along with the other promoted from Andalusia, Murcia and Castilla La Mancha.
