Valverde joins Indurain, Contador and Pereiro in the XX Vuelta Ciclotourista a Ibiza

The Ibizan test will honor ‘El Bala’ in the first participation of the Murcian

MADRID, 2 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

Former professional cyclist Alejandro Valverde will participate for the first time and will join Miguel Indurain, Alberto Contador and Óscar Pereiro in the twentieth edition of the Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo, which will be held from October 13 to 15, the organizers announced this Monday.

‘El Bala’ will run for the first time in the Ibizan march, in which he will be honored for his career. Although Valverde announced his retirement from professional cycling a little less than a year ago, with 133 wins under his belt, the Murcian continues to participate in cycle tours and gravel races.

Before the Campagnolo Cycle Tour of Ibiza, ‘El Bala’ will be present at the Gravel World Championship on October 8 in Italy and, the following week, he will go to Ibiza to celebrate the twentieth anniversary of this march.

“We have a great representation of the best Spanish cyclists to celebrate the 20 years of this magnificent Vuelta Cicloturista a Ibiza Campagnolo. We cannot yet reveal what it will be like, but we will have a tribute for Valverde. Who knows if we will be able to celebrate his first gravel World Championship” said Juanjo Planells, from the organization of the cycle tour.
