Unicaja will wear a blue and white kit in their matchday 30 of the Endesa League this Sunday against Joventut de Badalona at the Martín Carpena (6:30 p.m.) as a gesture of support for “a brother club” like Málaga CF, which is playing the permanence in LaLiga SmartBank.
The special kit, made by Joma, will have blue and white stripes as a show of support for Málaga. “From Unicaja we want to give our maximum support to Málaga CF and convey that in sport difficult situations can always be overcome with courage, heart, faith and the support of an entire city that loves its teams,” the club said. “The city of Málaga and Unicaja believe in the salvation of Málaga CF. For one day, we will all be blue and white,” he added.
The president of Unicaja, former referee Antonio Jesús López Nieto, reiterated his club’s encouragement to his “sister team”. “We have decided to make this commemorative shirt because the clubs of the city have to be together at all times, much more when things get difficult”, he highlighted.
“These are days of being with Málaga CF more than ever. The fans have already shown many signs that they are united, I remember how our anthem sounded at La Rosaleda not long ago. There are even many fans who have season tickets for both teams and “They are faithful to Carpena and La Rosaleda. Now, with this gesture we want to go a step further to demonstrate the union between the two great clubs in the city,” he said.
For his part, José María Muñoz, judicial administrator of Málaga CF, recalled that the initiative aims to “unite the two hobbies”. “We are two brother clubs that have always gone hand in hand, that we are together in victories and defeats, and that we cover each other in important moments,” he said.
“I am grateful to Unicaja for once again showing that it is together with Málaga, because Málaga will always be part of Unicaja’s army. At a time when the entire city is united to advance against adversity, this is the way to make clear what is the path to make ourselves better and stronger”, he stressed.
