Tunjung debuts his record with the Madrid Spain Masters

MADRID, 2 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Indonesian player Gregoria Mariska Tunjung defeated (21-8, 21-8) the Indian Pusarla Sindhu this Sunday to win the title in the Madrid Spain Masters, the first of her record in the World Series of the International Badminton Federation.

Tunjung, who eliminated the Spanish Carolina Marín on Saturday in Gallur, dispatched in less than half an hour a Sindhu that many dreamed of seeing again against Huelva in the final as in the match that gave Marín Olympic gold in Rio 2016 .

The double Olympic medalist was greatly outclassed by an intractable Tunjung who clinched her first title in the second final she was playing after last year’s Australian Open. The Japanese final in the men’s draw was scored by Kenta Nishimoto with a comeback (15-21, 21-18, 21-19) against Kanta Tsuneyama.
