Tuchel: “We didn’t score 3-1 and Real Madrid penalized us”

MADRID, 1 May. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The coach of FC Bayern, Thomas Tuchel, has regretted that his pupils did not score the 3-1 this Tuesday, in the first leg of the Champions League semi-finals, and that the Real Madrid players did “penalize” them with 2 -2 definitive, something that “they do against many rivals.”

“It was a very good first 10-15 minutes, with good chances. Afterwards, the game was a bit blocked and it wasn’t as fluid. We conceded a chance and a goal. We lost some confidence, some rhythm” , declared Tuchel to the Movistar Plus+ microphones from the mixed zone of the Allianz Arena in Munich.

“And in the second half we changed a little, we played more fluidly again with the goal, with the penalty and we had chances to make it 3-1. We didn’t score and they penalized us. It was just for a small action in the area”, alluded to the penalty committed by Kim Min-jae on Rodrygo Goes in the final stretch of the match.

“In the end it was a 2-2 draw, but this is what they do against many rivals. Unfortunately it was our turn today. We had many opportunities to win the game. The situation is not very clear and we have to go to the Bernabéu the next week,” he predicted.

Furthermore, he explained that he had “an idea to do” regarding Jamal Musiala and Leroy Sané. “We had many chances with Jamal and with Leroy with a changed leg. In the first 10-15 minutes with that position we had very good opportunities. In the second half we changed them [de banda] and we have improved,” said the Bayern coach.

Finally, he advocated “being more clinical” at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium during the return leg. “We have to have more opportunities. It is an open and tough game. We have to improve our individual defenses, we have to be stronger, we have to have confidence and try to win,” he concluded.
