Trabzonspor, Basaksehir and Galatasaray extend the bid

The Trabzonspor, the Istanbul Basaksehir and the Galatasaray, unable to achieve the three points on the 26th matchday, prolonged the bid for the leadership of the Turkish League.

The top five of the table settled the date with a tie. Neither Galatasaray nor Sivasspor were able to add the three points to threaten Trabzonspor and Basaksehir, who share the first place in the table and who faced each other in the Medical Park Arena.

The clash between the first two ended with a tie to a goal. The visiting team, Basaksehir, took the lead with a goal from Senegal's Demba Ba in the 56th minute. But an own goal by Slovakian Martin Skrtel prevented their victory and provided a point for Trabzonspor, settled at the top thanks to the goal difference.

Galatasaray was unable to take advantage of that tie. He could not win at his stadium, Ali Sami Yen, Besiktas in one of the classics of Turkish football.

There were no goals in the match and Fatih Terim's team follows three points behind Trabzonspor and Istanbul Basaksehir.

The day was completed with the victory of Kayserispor against Yeni Malahyaspor (2-1). The Bosnian Muris Mesanovic and the Brazilian Pedro Henrique led the local victory in the first half, which could have been greater if the Ghanaian Bernard Mensah had not wasted a penalty. After the break, Icelandic Vidar Orn Kjartansson scored the only goal for the visitors.
