The Spanish women's roller hockey team started the European Championship that is being held in Olot (Girona) in an unbeatable way until next Sunday after beating its theoretical main rival, Portugal, 5-1 this Monday.
The current champion, who is seeking her eighth title at home and her seventh in a row, started the tournament in devastating fashion despite the fact that the Portuguese team cooled things down at the Pavellò Municipal d'Esports with an early goal from Raquel Santos.
However, the team led by Ricard Muñoz knew how to recover and achieved the tie ten minutes later through Aina Florenza, who calmed down the host, who however could not turn the score around before the break despite a shot against the crossbar by Sara Roces .
After passing through the locker room, the Spanish team continued to dominate the match and enjoyed the best approaches against a rival that tried to threaten without success and could not prevent the champion from taking the lead in the 36th minute with a goal from the captain.
