MADRID, 16 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –
LaLiga Genuine Santander, a football competition made up of teams of people with intellectual disabilities, played this Saturday in Vigo (Pontevedra) the first day of its third phase in the current 2022/23 season.
In the olive-growing city, the tournament resumed its activity after the second phase held in Barcelona and Bilbao. RC Celta, host of the weekend, is sharing the anniversary of its centenary with the protagonists of this inclusive project launched by LaLiga through its Foundation.
The opening ceremony of the event from Vigo took place this past Friday with the presence of Javier Tebas, president of LaLiga, and Carlos Mouriño, president of RC Celta. Thus, the Saturday session saw the first games of the 22 teams participating in this phase of LaLiga Genuine Santander at the Ciudad Deportiva de A Madroa.
Throughout the weekend, more than 350 footballers come together to play the 33 games that make up this stage of the competition. In the absence of the morning session on Sunday, the teams are defending their colors to advance in the sports and Fair Play rankings. Admission is free throughout the tournament.
Banco Santander continues to support this project as the ‘title sponsor’ of the competition. In addition, LaLiga Genuine Santander once again has the involvement of its associated brands. Burger King Spain, as a brand associated with the competition, continues with its ‘Fanatics of the Real Tour’, installing a Fan Zone with leisure activities.
