The stepson of Tita Thyssen, the baron’s firstborn, dies of cancer

George Thyssen He died this week in Switzerland, at the age of 72, due to a cancer. He was the eldest son of the baron, the result of his marriage to the German princess Teresa zur Lippe-Weissenfeld. He stepson, in turn, of carmen cerverawith whom he never had a good relationship, even worse after the death of the aristocrat, whose inheritance caused a tremendous fight between all of them.

Georg, unlike his brothers, soon cut himself off from the art world and studied Mathematics in Munich and Law in Zurich. He was one of the senior executives of the Thyssen-Bornemisza Group (TBG), which operates as an investor for the family and which bought the European meteorological firm MeteoGroup and another American, in charge of meteorological data analysis, DTN.

With a discreet character and away from the media spotlight, he was married to Catharina Eleonore, Countess von Meran-Brandhofen (55). They had two children, Simon (21) and Monique Thyssen-Bornemisza de Kászon (19).
