The RFEF assures that it will “establish” the First RFEF guarantee fund “without need” according to AFE

MADRID, 25 Oct. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Royal Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) described as “surprising” and “unfounded” the statement made public this Tuesday by the Association of Spanish Footballers (AFE) regarding the Guarantee Fund for First Federation players, and assured that it will establish it “no need” according to the union.

In another statement, the RFEF recalled that at the meeting held in early October with representatives of the AFE, the formalization of the fund for the current 2022-23 season was addressed, among other issues.

The RFEF then indicated that “there would be no problem” to establish the same fund that had been approved for the 2021-22 season, whose amount was 1.2 million euros and of which the RFEF contributed one million and the union, the remaining 200,000.

“The federation’s position was very clear and it was indicated that it could be undertaken immediately since it was included in the forecasts and had been previously approved,” he adds.

According to the RFEF, the representatives of the AFE transferred the possibility that the amount of the fund would be the same as that existing for the Second and Third Federation, of 1.5 million for the two categories together, without the union “contributing any amount” .

In this sense, the federation has declared itself willing to accept the proposal “as long as AFE assumes the contribution of 300,000 euros of that total amount, in the same proportion as the agreement sealed last season.”

“The federative representatives have already made it clear that any modification of this type should be studied and approved by the competent bodies. It was left to transfer that request and to continue working together on these issues for a future meeting,” adds the note.

However, the federation assured that it will establish the fund “without the need for an agreement with AFE and that it is not exclusive with other unions.”

“The RFEF regrets the biased and uncertain information on the part of AFE in its statement, which is incomprehensible and which does not intend anything more than to generate tension despite the fact that the union has always been transferred the will to work for the improvement of all the conditions of the entire First Federation, including, obviously, the players,” the statement concludes.
