Nebulossa’s time at Eurovision ended with a disastrous 22nd place, fourth from bottom, in an edition in which Switzerland triumphed with Nemo and The Code. Spain only got 30 points for one song, The debtwhich was voted more by the professional juries than by the public.
Of those 30 measly votes, 19 came from the experts selected by each country. And if we analyze its origin we will see that there is some surprise. For a start, Italy was the one that scored Nebulossa the best, with 7 points, despite the fact that there was a historical mania in this country towards Spain. We must remember that Italy punished us without votes in the last six editions. Even the year of Chanel, Italy turned its back on Spain. If we go back further, Italy has only given 12 to our country twice, while we have given it to them on nine occasions.
Behind Italy, San Marino awarded 6 points to Nebulossa, followed by Austria (4), Switzerland (1) and Finland (1). It is important to highlight the striking ‘0 points’ from Portugal to Spain. France, another neighboring country, also did not pay attention to the duo formed by Mery and Mark Dasousa. There were, in total, 32 countries that left us with nothing.
Spain only got 11 points from the televoting
Regarding the votes of the audience, known as televoting, Spain only managed to get 11 points from the spectators. In this case Portugal did concede 3 to Nebulossa, the same as Finland. France (2), Ireland (2) and Italy (1) were the origin of the other votes that our delegation collected.
For its part, the Spanish audience gave their ’12 points’ to Israel. This country, whose presence had raised a strong controversy, achieved massive support from the televoting of almost all participants, only surpassed by Croatia by very little. Ukraine took 10 points from our audience.
