Pedro Sanchez has tested positive for Covid-19 and has had to suspend his trip to the G-20 in India. The acting president himself has communicated it this Thursday, September 7 through his X account.

“This afternoon I have tested positive for Covid and I will not be able to travel to New Delhi to attend the G-20 Summit. I feel good. Spain will be magnificently represented by the First Vice President and Minister for Economic Affairs and the Minister for Foreign Affairs, EU and Cooperation”, has reassured the socialist leader.

However, social networks have poured out comments of all kinds: “Pedro Sánchez has Covid… This government is infected”, “Pedro Sánchez tests positive for Covid again, they say…” or “Pedro Sánchez tests positive for Covid and negative in shame. Positivity is expected to subside in days, negativity will be eternal.” Also in support of the president: “Pedro Sánchez tests positive for Covid again. And he will isolate himself again. Like ordinary mortals.”

Sánchez, who was at the last goodbye to María Teresa Campos this Tuesday, also contracted Covid-19 about a year ago. On March 15, 2020, two days after confinement was decreed in the country, his wife, Begoña Gomez, tested positive, although on that occasion the president was not infected.
