The Nets beat the Pistons 118–112. This is the 30th straight loss for the Pistons in the NBA season.
The Detroit Pistons lost their 27th straight game this season, 118–112. They are the first team in NBA history to do so. Like the season, the game towards Brooklyn began with some hope.
The Nets beat the Pistons upon Saturday in Brooklyn, giving them their 26th straight loss. They now tie the Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers to the most losses in a row in a single season.
For the record, the Philadelphia 76ers lost 28 games in a row from the end of the 2014–15 season to the beginning of the 2015–16 season.
With a game on the road facing the NBA-leading Celtics of Boston on Thursday night, it looks like they will at least tie the record.
At one point, Detroit was ahead 9–1 and had a 14–point lead within the first quarter. But bad shooting, defense, and mistakes let Brooklyn make things worse for the Motor City.
The Nets beat the Pistons by 13 points in the second quarter and were ahead 61–54 at the break.
In the third quarter, Cade Cunningham scored 18 of his total 41 points. He also made a 3-pointer at the start of the fourth to give Detroit a 97-92 lead.
A playoff game had almost 3,000 people, and they started cheering loudly. Right then, the Nets went on a 13-0 charge to take the advantage for good.
Cunningham did what he could to help the team win, but he didn’t have much help and even turned the ball over once.
There was a time when Bojan Bogdanovic scored 23 points and then fouled out. He then left Cam Johnson wide open for a 3-pointer who gave Brooklyn a six-point lead with 1:40 left.
Last year’s No. 5 pick, Jaden Ivey, missed 9 in 12 shots because the Nets backed off of him and let the guard shoot.
The Pistons joined the Cleveland Cavaliers in 2010–11 and the Philadelphia 76ers in 2013–14. In their first season under Monty Williams, they went 2–27.
After being tied in the first half, the Nets went on a 15-0 run to take a 21-point lead and make sure Detroit wouldn’t win again until October 28.
The teams will play again on Tuesday night in Detroit. The Pistons are getting close to having the longest losing streak in league history.
Beginning in late 2014–15 and ending early 2015–16, the 76ers fell 28 straight games. Guard Cade Cunningham said, “Everyone wants to win; everyone hates losing, so it’s hard.” “We also need to be realistic.”

Cam Johnson, a forward for the Nets, and Bridges both played to Williams in Phoenix. Johnson thinks that Williams can make his new team a winner.
“After the game, I told a number of the young guys on the team that you have to lose before you can win, that you have to fall before you can crawl, and you have to walk before you can run,” Johnson said.
Detroit got off to a good start, picking up a 6-0 lead. But they lost focus and turned the ball over six times within the first quarter.
The Nets turned those in in 11 points, which was the lead at the end of the quarter, 32-21, with Brooklyn ahead.
