Bob Marley's eldest son Ziggyopened Pandora's box to reveal what the true relationship of the interpreter of Redemption Song with his wife Rita. The musician also stated this Saturday that his mother encouraged Bob to rise to stardom. This message arrives a few days before the film's premiere Bob Marley: One Lovea great legacy in honor of the artist.
“My mom is the backbone of everything. Without her, none of this would have happened. My father's career would not be what it is“, revealed the firstborn of the singer reggae to the newspaper People. Likewise, Ziggy pointed out that his parents complemented each other perfectly. “They complement each other in that sense. You need someone like that by your side. You can't do it alone. You could never do it alone,” he explained.
Despite this complicity, Bob Marley had relationships with seven other women (something that Rita never cared about). “I never got involved in other women's affairs. I was always his very special person. “When God unites them, they stay together no matter what happens,” the composer declared in 1984.
Bob and Rita met when she was 17 years old and he was 19. The love between them triumphed and they passed through the altar in 1966. They also expanded their family with three children: Ziggy, Cedella and Esteban.
