The International Union of Atlético de Madrid Supporters Clubs will honor Enrique Collar this Thursday

The International Union of Atlético de Madrid Supporters Clubs will pay tribute this Thursday (7:00 p.m.) in the Cívitas Metropolitano auditorium to former red and white player Enrique Collar, the footballer who has been captain of the colchonero team for the most seasons, a total of ten.

The legendary Andalusian left-footed winger, who will be present at the event, will be honored precisely on the day he turns 89. The one from San Juan de Aznalfarache (Seville) is the fourth player who has worn the red and white jersey the most times (470) and the ninth top scorer of all time for the Atlético team (105).

Collar will be accompanied by family members and numerous former red and white players, such as Roberto Solozábal -president of the ‘Atlético de Madrid Legends’ Association-, Adelardo Rodríguez -president of the Atlético de Madrid Foundation-, José Armando Ufarte, Roberto Rodríguez ‘Rodri’, Roberto Fresnedoso, Julio Orozco, Juan Carlos Pedraza and Manolo Sánchez Delgado.

Eduardo Fernández, president of the International Union of Supporters Clubs of Atlético de Madrid, will also be present. Likewise, the event will have the support of Club de Empresas Cívitas, the club’s main Sustainability partner, and will be presented by journalist Miguel Ángel Guijarro.

The video ‘Semblanza de Collar’ will also be projected and he will be presented with a plaque that will accredit him as an Honorary Member of the International Union of Supporters Clubs.

Collar, whose debut marks 70 years this year, is the image of the membership card for the current 2023-24 campaign, with which the club also pays tribute to a player who, as captain, won a League (1965-66) , three Cups (1959-60, 1960-61 and 1964-65) and a European Cup Winners’ Cup (1961-62). A record achieved over 16 seasons as a red and white, the last 15 consecutively and the final ten, serving as captain, between 1959 and 1969.
