The goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar signs for Mallorca until 2024

The veteran goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar has become this Monday a new player for RCD Mallorca, a club with which he has reached an agreement for the remainder of the recently started season, until June 30, 2024, according to a statement.

“RCD Mallorca has closed the incorporation of the Extremaduran goalkeeper Iván Cuéllar. The footballer has signed a contract with the club until June 30, 2024,” the Vermilion entity advanced on its website.

‘Pichu’ Cuéllar returns to the highest category of Spanish football at the age of 39, with the help of the Balearic club, after having played the last two seasons in ‘Segunda’ at Real Sporting de Gijón. The goalkeeper has developed most of his career in the Asturian entity, also in a first stage between 2008 and 2017, winning the Zamora Trophy in the 2013-2014 campaign.

In addition, the veteran goalkeeper has defended the jersey of clubs such as Leganés, Eibar and Atlético de Madrid, the team with which he made his First Division debut in the 2004-2005 season. In his career he has played a total of 440 games, of which 204 have been in ‘First’.

The goalkeeper showed his “happiness” for signing this new contract. “When you join such an exciting project, you are really grateful, especially with those people who have trusted me. I also really want to be able to train and be able to help from wherever I have to. I come with the sole thought of helping to make it feasible the project and the objective that the club has in hand”, he valued in statements shared by the entity.
