This has been the sequence of the most affectionate greeting that the Kings received in Las Palmas. Don Felipe and Doña Letizia arrived in Gran Canaria to preside over the 2023 National Innovation and Design Awards. There, in the Santa Catalina Park, next to the Science Museum, the monarch and his wife were received by the neighbors . Among them, the children of the CEIP Pepe Monagas in the Canary Islands capital. A ceremony that took place this Thursday, April 11 at 12:30 (Canary time).
The little ones, who were wearing a red t-shirt with the school logo, greeted the Kings. Each in their own way. Some shook their hands, others high-fived the King and a girl grabbed the monarch’s right hand and pinched him.. Meanwhile, Don Felipe laughed.
As the images of X shared by Casa Real show, the same little girl spent a while chatting with the Queen. Letizia always squats down to talk to children, so she can establish eye contact at the same height as them. It is a custom, like a reflex act to show closeness and trust. The Kings are very nanny and their dizzying visit to Las Palmas left us with these spontaneous images.
