The Garmont 9.81 Hi-Ride shoe, a hybrid model for cycling and hiking

MADRID, 19 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The ‘9.81 Hi-Ride’ shoe from the Italian brand Garmont, winner of the award from the independent German company ‘Design&Innovation’ for its innovative character, is a hybrid model made with recycled materials designed for cycling, but it is also ideal for hiking and urban use.

With an upper and sole made from recycled, abrasion-resistant material and a midsole made from bio-sourced EVA from sugarcane, it features reflective strips on the heel for added safety for hikers in low-light conditions. .

The new shoes from the company from the Italian region of Veneto have been designed to meet the needs of new users of assisted pedaling, which prevent energy from dispersing during pedaling and, at the same time, are comfortable to carry out. a long walk up the mountain.

This footwear responds to the needs of a new sustainable mobility that has become so common after the pandemic. Non-expert cyclists who love to discover long trails need a shoe that is structured and rigid enough that it does not dissipate the energy of the pedal push.

The ‘9.81 Hi-Ride’ are shoes with the GTF Hyve sole, designed in two parts, one with a softer compound to guarantee good grip on the pedal, thanks also to the density of the studs with a honeycomb pattern; and another created with a recycled rubber compound and a more open stud design, to ensure the right balance between grip, traction and durability.

Although they are shoes that could enter the cycling distribution circuit, this model has all the technical and style elements that characterize Garmont hiking shoes.

FOR NATURE LOVERS

The 9.81 Hi-Ride is built for the new breed of outdoorsy cyclist, with ‘Heel Lock’ technology that locks the heel in place when the laces are tightened via integrated pull tabs on the microfiber lateral gusset.

The Ortholite insole is made with 98 percent recycled materials and the PlumeFoam midsole, built with a bio-based compound derived from sugarcane that provides greater cushioning and lightness.

In the pedaling area, the sole studs are smaller and closer together for total control of the pedal, also guaranteed by a compound that increases grip. The part of the sole that is used for walking presents a recycled rubber compound with more widely spaced and deeper lugs.

The Garmont 9.81 Hi-Ride is available in color palettes of black-yellow and moss green-yellow for men and women, and its recommended retail price is 140 euros.
