The French Frappart will direct Granada-Omonia

The French collegiate Stephanie frappart has been appointed to lead the meeting this Thursday Granada-Omonia Nicosia, corresponding to the fourth day of the group stage of the Europa League.

Frapart, born in Herblay 36 years ago, became the first woman to referee a match in this continental competition when she directed the clash between English Leicester and Ukrainian Zorya, although on August 14, 2019 she already had the opportunity to referee the European Super Cup between Liverpool and Chelsea and also the confrontation of the previous Europa League between Djurgarden and Europa.

The match between Leicester and Zorya, which Frappart managed without major setbacks, ended in a 3-0 victory for the English after goals from James Maddison, Harvey Barnes and Nigerian Kelechi Iheanacho.

The French is not, however, the first referee assigned to a UEFA men's match. That honor went to Nicole Petignat when she led UEFA Cup qualifying matches between 2004 and 2009, according to UEFA's own data.

In the Nuevo Los Cármenes she will be assisted on the wings by her compatriots Hicham Zakrani and Mikael Berchebru, and Johan Hamel will officiate as fourth official.

For its part, the Maccabi Tel Aviv-Villarreal match will be directed by the Portuguese Tiago Martins, who will have Pedro Almeida and Hugo Andre Pires Ribeiro as line judges, and Helder Malheiro as fourth official

The AZ Alkmaar-Real Sociedad match will be refereed by Macedonian Aleksandar Stavrev, assisted on the wings by Dejan Kostadinov and Goce Petreski, and the fourth official will be Konstantin Vlaho.
