The Euroleague will issue a ruling in 24 hours on the Real Madrid-Partizán fight

MADRID, 28 Abr. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Independent Disciplinary Judge of the Euroleague “will issue a resolution” in the next 24 hours “on the incidents on the track” during the game between Real Madrid and Partizán de Belgrade, which this Thursday ended with 1:40 remaining after a pitched battle between the players of both teams.

“EuroLeague has forwarded the reported facts to the Independent Disciplinary Judge, who will issue a resolution on the incidents on the track, in accordance with the established procedures, in the following 24 hours,” confirmed this Friday the governing body of basketball in the ‘Old Continent ‘.

“EuroLeague strongly condemns the events that occurred at the end of the game. These events do not represent the values of respect that the league and its clubs promote and that the sport of basketball embodies,” underlined the press release published two hours after the fight in the WiZink Center.

Thus, the second game of the quarterfinals between Real Madrid and Partizán was stopped with 1 minute and 40 seconds still to play, due to an altercation on the field and in which most of the players got involved from both benches.

“When disqualifications were applied for those players who participated in the altercation and with those automatically ejected for leaving the bench area, neither team had the required minimum of two players to finish the game,” the note said.

“Therefore, the match is considered officially over with the score of that moment. It was stopped with 80-95 in favor of Partizan, which now leads the series 0-2,” he adds, clarifying the referees’ procedure after a 15-minute review on the court, looking at the blows between players, with Punter and Yabusele as the most noted.
