The Eagles will be in the playoffs for the third year in a row thanks of the 49ers’ win against the Cardinals.
There has been no Week 15 football for the Philadelphia Eagles, and they haven’t won a game this month.
However, on Sunday, they locked up their spot in the playoffs. The Eagles made it to the playoffs thanks to wins by the 49ers and Lions and losses by the Packers and Falcons.
The Birds won after Week 15 games in which the Green Bay Packers or the Atlanta Falcons lost and the Detroit Lions and the San Francisco 49ers won.
On Monday Night Football, Philadelphia (10-3) plays the Seattle Seahawks. If they win, they will still be in the lead to win the NFC East.
The Eagles said Sunday that quarterback Jalen Hurts is now only “questionably” healthy enough to play Monday night after his illness got worse overnight.
Hurts, who is 25, did not work out on Saturday. This season, the 2022 Star Bowler has thrown for 3,192 yards, scored 19 touchdowns, and thrown 10 interceptions. He has also scored 12 scores on the ground, which is tied for second most in the NFL.
Seattle (6-7) is also not sure who will start at quarterback as they are in the middle of a four-game losing run. Markus Mariota would start if Hurts isn’t sufficiently fit to go.
Geno Smith missed last week’s game because of a groin injury. He only practiced a little and is also uncertain, which means Drew Lock could start for the second week in a row.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills beat the Dallas Cowboys 31–10 at Highmark Stadium. This makes the Eagles even more likely to win the NFC East.
The 49ers (11-3) are still on a roll; they won their sixth road game on Sunday. Manager Kyle Shanahan said after the win, “Our number one goal was to get into the playoffs.”
