The Dream Team enjoys again

The Dream Team got back together to celebrate the 30th anniversary of Barcelona’s first European Cup win at Wembley in an act organized by the festive playful association Amics de Johan. The team is in good shape and in an event led by Jordi Basté, most of the members of that team passed by and recalled anecdotes in a very relaxed tone. Much more than the advice that the players received from their coach before leaving. Chapi Ferrer, Juan Carlos or Guardiola finally recognized that this match is not enjoyed. “In the talk I disconnected, Cruyff had already told me that he had to mark Mancini and I didn’t have to think about anything else, especially because he had returned ten days ago from a six-month knee injury”, explained Ferrer, while Guardiola from Manchester summed up that “the only ones who should have enjoyed it were Zubi and Ronald, who were the ones who saved us”.

The current City manager, in a chat with Txiki Begiristain, recalled the final as “a very close match, like most finals in which there is no team that is much superior, unless you play against Madrid and they lift the game in the last minutes”.

The anecdotes were constantly happening among the participants of the act, with a special role for Julio Salinas, who continues to regret that his shot in an unlikely play did not go in: “Pagliuca ruined my life twice, at Wembley and at the World Cup in the United States.” Johan’s memory lives on in a group of friends who won a European Cup.
