The Community of Madrid awards the Quinta del Bruite

The Madrid’s community has decided to reward the Fifth of the Vulture with the International Sports Award. An award that has not been given since 2011. The Prize was created in 2008, with Rafa Nadal as the first to receive it. Pau Gasol (2009) and Fernando Alonso (2011) were the last to be awarded.

Martha Rivera, Minister of Culture, Tourism and Sports in the Community of Madrid, announced on the social networks of the Community the award “to the Quinta del Buitre, that generation that made Real Madrid win five consecutive Leagues, something that no other club achieved later”, he said, adding that “he made so many Spaniards dream of the 80s at a time when the country wanted to reinvent itself, that it was facing many dreams and those boys, Butragueño, Michel, Sanchís, Pardeza, Martín Vázquez, every weekend they made a dream possible. I think that Spanish sport owes them a lot, that Madrid owes them a lot, that the Community of Madrid owes them a lot and this prize is going to pay off that immense debt that we have with them”.

There is no scheduled date for the delivery of the Prize, but everything indicates that it will be in the month of March.
