The Copa del Rey ACB trophy travels this Sunday on a Renfe AVE from Madrid to Malaga, where the final phase of this competition will be held between February 15 and 18.
A Renfe AVE train has transported the cup from the Madrid Puerta de Atocha-Almudena Grandes station to the María Zambrano station in Málaga. From there, the trophy will go to the Martín Carpena pavilion, venue of the Copa de Rey ACB final.
The trophy left Madrid at 10:30 a.m. and previously an event was held in which the president of Renfe, Raül Blanco, and the president of the ACB, Antonio Martín, were present.
“The transfer of the Copa del Rey from Madrid to Malaga on the Renfe train not only highlights the importance of collaboration between sport and rail transport, but also reflects the commitment to sustainable travel,” highlights Renfe.
