Spain wins European rugby bronze with its first victory in Romania

MADRID, 17 Mar. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish rugby team won bronze this Sunday in the Rugby Europe Championship 2024, European Championship, thanks to a historic first victory over Romania at home (33-40).

The ‘Lions’ beat the Eastern European powerhouse for the seventh time in history, and first away from home, the only team to have taken a title from Georgia in the last 15 years, and a World Cup winner in France 2024.

An epic comeback in the first half and a brilliant start to the second half with a total of six Spanish tries managed to placate the powerful Robles, who still managed to show off their fame and stay in the game until the final whistle.
