Spain will have a second boat at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games

MADRID, 29 Jun. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Bipartite Commission of the International Rowing Federation and the International Paralympic Committee has awarded Spain a place in the PR3 coxed four event in mixed competition (PR3Mix4+) at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games.

“We are happy to share that a second boat will accompany Javier García (PR1) at the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games,” the Spanish Rowing Federation reported this Saturday. “The bipartite commission has awarded a place to PR3Mix4 +!” he added.

In this way, Verónica Rodríguez, Josefa Benítez, Saúl Peña, Daniel Díaz and Leonor García will be in the Paralympic event, for which the Alicante-born Javier García has already qualified, who won his ticket for the PR1 M1x men’s individual event – reserved for participants without mobility in legs or trunk – during the European qualifying regatta held in Szeged (Hungary) in April.

Spanish rowing will have a record participation in the Games, with five Olympic boats -Virginia Díaz (skiff); Aina Cid and Esther Briz (two without feminine); Jaime Canalejo and Javier García (two single sculls), Rodrigo Conde and Aleix García (double sculls); and Caetano Horta and Dennis Carracedo (light double sculls) – and two Paralympians.
