Spain loses to France in their second match of the women’s volleyball European Championship

MADRID, 18 Ago. (EUROPA PRESS) –

The Spanish women’s volleyball team fell (2-3) against France this Friday in a bitter ‘tie-break’ that meant the second defeat in two days of the European Championship.

At the Unibet Arena in Tallinn (Estonia), the ‘Lionesses’ lost in the tiebreaker (22-25, 25-18, 23-25, 25-17, 15-10) and will have a crucial duel this Saturday against the undefeated Slovakia to try to straighten the course in the European.

The Spanish team started ahead with a choral performance led by María Schlegel and Zoi Mavrommatis. The French reaction forced the changes of Pascual Saurín, and Carolina Camino and Julia de Paula acted as a revulsion for Spain to take another lead.

France again adjusted their blocking in the fourth quarter against the new Spanish offensive resources and with the contribution of Helena Cazaute forced the ‘tie-break’ where the ‘Leonas’ saw the option of a first victory vanish.
