Spain has the Haaland cure

Erling Haaland returns to Spain. The Norwegian forward has traveled to Marbella again to recover from a hip injury which, in principle, will keep him away from the pitch for the remainder of 2021. According to German television Sport 1, the striker has once again chosen the Costa de Sol (a destination that he has frequented with Dortmund, also with his national team and in which he was in October to recover from muscle problems) advised by his agent, Mino Raiola, after consulting with Dortmund. While many Madridistas dream of seeing him dressed in white, Haaland finds a recurring refuge in Spain.

It is expected, reports the sports channel, that Haaland take a break during his stay in Marbella to witness the two matches of the Norwegian national team in this break, commitments that will be decisive for the Scandinavians’ qualification for the World Cup. Those from Solbaken are second in their group, two points behind the Netherlands, who they face in Rotterdam on the last day, on Tuesday the 16th. A defeat against the Orange it may deprive Norway of even playing the playoffs, as Turkey is third, two points behind the Nordics. Earlier, on Saturday 13, Norway host Latvia in Oslo. Two games that Haaland is expected to attend to cheer on his teammates from the stands in their attempt to achieve a historic classification: Norway has not attended a World Cup since France 1998 and the final phase of a major tournament since Euro 2000.

Haaland, who has scored 12 goals (with five goals in World Cup qualification) in his 15 international appearances, has already missed both matches of the October break due to muscle discomfort. He reappeared with Dortmund, but has been injured again since October 25 due to a torn hip muscles. Unless he can advance the deadlines, his reappearance with the Rhenish team will not be until January 8, during the visit of Dortmund to Eintracht Frankfurt after the Christmas holidays of the Bundesliga. By then a transfer market will be open in which, once again, they will talk about their desired future at Real Madrid.
