Spain adds another six medals at the ITTF Thailand Para Open 2023

The Spanish delegation concludes a successful tour of Asia, where last week it signed six metals at the Korean Para Open

The Spanish table tennis team for people with disabilities closed this Sunday a great tour in Asia, once again taking the podium in class 9 and obtaining six medals at the ITTF Thailand Para Open 2023, held in the city of Pattaya.

Spain, which had just added another six medals last week at the Korean Para Open, endorsed its great moment with great dominance in class 9. As reported by the RFETM, the Spanish players Ander Cepas, Jorge Cardona and Juan Bautista Pérez shared the medals, bringing gold, silver and bronze, respectively.

The semifinals saw Cardona and Pérez face each other, an exciting match that ended with a 3-2 in favor of Cardona. Cepas demonstrated his skill by beating the Hungarian Dezso Bereczki 3-0, which he repeated in the final against Cardona.

In addition, Eduardo Cuesta won the bronze medal in class 11, surpassed by the Japanese Hajime Hara with a score of 3-1 in the semifinals. In class 18, the Spanish duo formed by Ander Cepas and Jorge Cardona once again showed their rapport by winning the title against the Hong Kong pair Ho/Wong (3-1).

In class 22, Eduardo Cuesta teamed up with the Turkish Ebru Acer, achieving the silver medal in a group against four top-level rivals. The Spanish team was accompanied by the coach of the Royal Spanish Table Tennis Federation Rafael Taboada.
